The day is over, and you're tired, but not quite tired enough to
go to sleep yet. So, to appease your mother you put your pj's on, brush your
teeth, and get under the covers with the lights out. In the comfort of your
spongebob footies and in the warmth of your batman comforter you lay awake. As
you lay there, the little man inside your head explores all the space he
neglected earlier today and creeps out the door to traverse unexplored
territories beyond.
Where does the little man begin his exploration? At 5 years of age he begins with
the the new toy you want. At 10yrs, it's at the new friend you
made. At 15 yrs, it's your new crush you just saw. At 20yrs, it's the new job
you desire. At 25yrs it's the spouse you long for. At 30 it's the place of your
own imagine. At 40 it's the new appliances you need for that place. At 50 it's
the old body you want back. At 60 it's the grandkids you want to visit. At 70
it's the spouse you yearn to be held by.
I can't say any of these for sure, but I do know one
thing--no matter where he begins, he always reveals something true, something
deep, something incredibly lovely about your inner-self as he surveys the
crevices and recesses of your mind. He reveals what you love, what you cherish,
what you want above all else. The important thing is to pay attention. Keep
track of where he's starting, and especially, where he's stopping and dwelling.
Find out what you love, and learn how to love it more, love it right, and love
it better--no matter what it is:] For, whatever is rooted in love--true, deep,
meaningful, selfless love, is beautiful beyond compare. No question about it:]
