"Sometimes I wonder why I stay with this girl. All she does is cry and whine about everything. But you know why I stay with her? Should I tell 'em hon?"
"Yeaaa" she answered
"Because I love her."
This little exchange made my heart melt. It was not only genuine, you could see that in his eyes, but it was perfect. There were tears in his eyes and drool coming from his grin. It made my face and my heart smile.
True love. Even though they live in wheelchairs and can't wipe their own faces, they love each other more than anything else. No matter how much his woman whines, or cries about nothing relevant at all, he loves her. He helps feed her, and calms her when she's upset. He encourages her, and sticks up for her, and chases her when she tries to get away after a fight. He apologizes when he offends her on accident, and cheers her up when she gets depressed. There is no limit to what he would do for her.
Love. That's what it looks like. Even inside a residential center for people with disabilities.
